Always check the condition of your sprayer prior to use to ensure the tank is in good working order. We recommend that you run plain water through the tank prior to adding your chemicals.


This video shows a person performing a very basic tank inspection. This includes utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and a careful visual inspection of the tank interior, exterior, and wand prior to use.

Basic Troubleshooting 

Never store chemicals or liquid in your tank! Follow all usage instructions printed on side of tank!

*If you're unable to fix an issue with a tank purchased at Do It Yourself Pest and Weed, bring in your clean, empty tank and we will perform a courtesy diagnostic. Repairs for a fee.

Issue: The pump works, but the tank isn't holding pressure.

Fix: Check the pump gasket. If it's cracked, torn, or dried out, it may need to be replaced.

Issue: Fluid is entering the pump cylinder and it's difficult to pump.

Fix: Inspect the check valve. If dried out or damaged from chemical storage in tank, replace part. 

Issue: The tank holds pressure, but there is no spray.

Fix: Ensure the siphon tube is not cracked or clogged with debris.

Issue: There's resistance and squeaking when pumping.

Fix: Plunger needs grease or Vaseline. 

Issue: The tank is holding pressure, but the wand is not spraying properly. 

Fix: Check and clean the inline discharge valve filter. Ensure sprayer tip is clean of debris and has original gaskets.
