Roach
Southern Arizona has over 15 roach species enjoying our desert climate, but two species stand out more than the others to the average homeowner.
Light brown and only about 1/2 - 3/4" long, the German Cockroach is a common nuisance found inside the home. Attracted to foodstuffs and moisture, these pests will often settle in kitchens and bathrooms. Because the females produce so many eggs, infestations can develop quickly. leading to the insects spread throughout a home.
The American Cockroach can reach about 2" in length and is often found living in sewers and other spaces where shelter, moisture, and food are in steady supply.
With either species, ensuring the home is kept clean and eliminating protective nesting spaces will help you while treating an infestation.
