Pet owners, in particular, may encounter tick infestations when their pets go inside and outside throughout the day. Ticks can be transferred through an area by any animal native to that region, so no one is immune.

Generally, ticks reside in cracks and crevices for a large portion of their lives, but when they need to feed they'll move to plants or other surfaces where access to animals is improved.

If a tick infestation becomes established inside a home, it can be very difficult to treat. Frequently monitoring your pets skin for ticks and other pests, vacuuming your home regularly, and cleaning your pets bedding can help prevent a severe infestation.
