Bed Bug
Adults about the size of an apple seed, tiny translucent eggs the size of a pinhead.. How could such a small pest create such large problems?
With the recent spread in bed bug activity world wide, many are quick to assume that any bite received during the night is a result of bed bugs. While this may be true, it's nearly impossible to distinguish a pest based on the welt it leaves on a persons skin.
If you suspect you have bed bugs, a thorough inspection is necessary. Search bedding, cracks and crevices around the home, and inspect pieces of furniture to find evidence of a bed bug problem.
Check for reddish/brown marks on bed sheets and blankets, search for adult bugs in cracks and crevices, and check for little black spots of excrement. Remember - Bed bugs do not necessarily live in beds. They may follow humans throughout a house, guided by the carbon dioxide we exhale while breathing. That's why treating the entire home in case of a bed bug infestation is a good idea.
